2012 Holiday Cards Page

Saturday, January 5, 2013

One of my favorite scrapbook albums is of the pages I’ve made of our holiday cards and those we’ve received. I got the idea originally from Ali Edwards a few years back. I’ve varied how I’ve cropped the cards but love each page! I took a craftcation yesterday on my birthday and made this (as well as other projects you’ll see soon – it was AWESOME!!).
Both pages:
Left side (our cards and the one from my SIL/BIL – I couldn’t cut up my nephew’s cute little face so I put the whole card in!). Yes, I made two holiday cards this year. The one on the bottom is via Shutterfly (they have awesome cards!). The one on top is the handmade card I made. I could only get 40 of them done, so some on my list got the Shutterfly card. It was a lot of fun but a LOT of work! I’ll post more details on our card later.
And the page of those cards we received. We received exactly 15 photo cards (well, 16 with my nephew above I guess). The non-photo cards I punched an image of also, and just layered them beneath some of the photo cards. There were a few photo cards that I had a tough time with – like the one from my friend Trish who had a separate photo of each of her sons with Santa, so I couldn’t get the together. I just punched both images and stacked them. Then the beautiful card from my friend Stacey had a huge photo of her three kids. It was heartbreaking to punch through that one since it meant losing an eye on each of her girls. :)
Supplies: Studio Calico Kris Kringle Kit, Dark Red Linen Cardstock, October Afternoon Mini Market Alpha Stickers

If you want to see year’s past, here’s a post from 2011. One of my all-time favorite projects!!
Happy New Year!
