Hostess Gift Idea and a Giveaway

Thursday, December 13, 2012

I’m back at the Big Picture Classes blog today with an easy little project that would make a perfect hostess gift or Secret Santa gift!

To celebrate, I’m also hosting a giveaway of the Home Blessings workshop by Courtney Walsh! This class is right up my alley! It’s starts January 3.

Here’s some information on the class:

In this four-week workshop, you'll learn to create mixed-media wall art, collaged frames, and dimensional decor to bless your home with your own unique touch. Along the way, you'll discover meaningful ways to bring blessing into your everyday and then create tangible elements to reflect these blessings.

To enter the giveaway, please comment below. For a second chance to win the giveaway, enter a 2nd comment sharing a handmade gift you’ve given or are planning to give this holiday season! I can’t wait to read all your ideas! Enter by midnight (MST) on December 17.

Have a great day!

  1. Cute idea! I need something quick and inexpensive for my co-workers. This just may be the trick! This class looks awesome and I've been really wanting to try mixed media but I don't want to do it on my own - those have been EPIC failures!

  4. My daughter and I made salt dough ornaments and she loves painting them. She is 2 1/2 so it is a good craft project for her. We are giving the ornaments to family members and her little friends and saving a few for our tree!

  11. Love this idea. I always struggle a bit with a meaningful, but not wildly expensive hostess gift idea. I will be making these this year!

  12. This year I'm making an album for my sister in law who had a stroke in May. She asked me to put all of her notes, cards, and printed facebook postings together in one place - a place to look back and remember the tremendous support they received during a particularly difficult time. I'm honored that she asked me. --vb

  13. Taught myself to crochet so I could make a Hello Kitty coffee cup warmer for my wonderful friend who posted a picture of the final product on her Pinterest account. She's very talented and a perfectionist so making something for her was daunting but I did it! And she LOVED it! And that was the best.

  23. I made lots of tags that can also be bookmarks for my son's teacher and staff. Each tag has layered stamping images, embossed effect, ribbon, and punch border. I used these tags to be given with the gifts for the teachers.
    Thank you.
