logan - 32 months (and a half?)

Dear Logan,

Sorry I'm a little late this month, buddy.  I guess I got caught up in living life and missed the 26th!  You make every day special, though, so I don't see any harm in writing this a little late!

We've been having so many giggles in our house lately.  You crack yourself up all the time!  We have arguments about who is funnier - "You crack me up, Logan!  No, you crack me up, Mommy!".  And you seem to always be on performance.  Your dancing is particularly entertaining.  You shake your little booty and inevitably do this crazy move where you are on all fours then lift a foot.  Might be too much choreagraphy on Glee?

Speaking of Glee you are all out obsessed.  Rachel is your best friend and you know all the other characters. Your favorite of course is when they sing "People Song" but you enjoy watching them sing "Faithfully" and "Any Way You Want It".  You might be the only 2 year old that knows most of the words to 3 Journey songs.  You sing along too - it is super cute!!  We've downloaded the album so we can enjoy it in the car too.  You also love the Katy Perry song "California Gurls" and get excited when she says bikini ("that's my favorite part!").  I'm not sure I'm so proud of that one. :)

The better part of Glee I guess is that it's taught you how to spell the word "glee"!  You also know how to spell open.  I'm not exactly sure how that happened - you came home from a pizza trip with Daddy and were talking about the open sign.  So now you know how to spell that too!  And of course, your first and last name, although you've known those for a while!

One of your favorite things is when we eat outside - whether it is dinner, or a dessert after.  You think it is cool to sit on your new picnic table for dinner and the front step for dessert.  You are always saying "Let's eat outside!" and get disappointed if the weather isn't cooperative or there are wasps around.  I love that it is getting cooler outside so we can enjoy this more and more!  This is my favorite time of year!

You are big into rhyming these days, even if means making up words (or accidentally saying bad words that rhyme with duck).  You get so excited!  You are also into pointing out what letter words start with or thinking of words that start with the same letter.  You are so smart that it amazes me every day.  We couldn't be more proud of you buddy.

You have been into saying you are three lately.  It's funny because you don't mean your age - if we ask you always say, "no, I'm three feet tall!".  We measured you recently on your growth chart and you made it above the three, which you thought was pretty cool.  It makes my heart sad in a way that you are going to be three in December - I can't believe how fast you are growing!!

Every day is an adventure with you, and I welcome it with open arms.  We have our challenges like any other family, but I'll take it ten times over if I still get the joy of being with you.  I love how you clutch my neck when I'm carrying you downstairs.  And I love how you say "I love you more than the stars in the sky too!" before you go to sleep.  I also even love how you sweetly say "Can you lay down with me, Mommy?" when you wake up in the middle of the night, although I kind of dread it. :)

Love you more than the stars in the sky, buddy!!!

Love,

Mommy
