adventures in canning

I made my first batch of freezer jam this month and am hooked!!  We bought a giant batch of blueberries so it was a perfect way to use them.  I left them chunky because that's the way I like my jam (and PB too!).  I just used the recipe from the package of pectin (make sure to get the one for freezer jam), but have been noticing some great canning posts with recipes I want to try.  It was insanely easy (seriously!).  I know making the normal canned version is more complex, but I figure after a couple experiments with freezer jam I'll build my confidence.

I am excited about the fruit butter recipes too.  I have always loved apple butter, but when my friend Gretchen exposed me to her homemade peach butter I feel in love!

Make sure to click the photo for the link to the site with the recipe and instructions.  Enjoy!  And let me know if you give it a try (or your favorite recipe if you already can!)

2. Raspberry Nectarine Freezer Jam

3. Apricot Jam

4. General Fruit Butter

5. Slow Cooker (no kidding!) Blueberry Butter
